Apartments in East Columbus -- A Family-Friendly District
Head east of I-185, in the area that's south of Macon Road and north of Buena Vista Road, and you'll find East Columbus. This district is home to a number of different neighborhoods -- some upscale, some more affordable -- so you won't have any trouble finding a great apartment, no matter what your budget looks like.
Here's what you'll get to enjoy once you move into your East Columbus apartment:
- A variety of shopping opportunities
Because this district sits just east of the center of town, you won't have any shortage of places to shop. In East Columbus itself, you'll have a Walmart, four different shopping centers (Eastgate Plaza, Forest Road Plaza, Corners Crossing, and Starmount Plaza), and the Peachtree Mall will only be a short trip north on I-185.
- Yummy restaurants
The dining options on this side of town aren't as upscale as what you'll find in Uptown and MidTown, but you can rest easy knowing that your East Columbus apartment will be close to some tasty places. One of the most popular is Macon Road Barbecue, a tiny hole in the wall that specializes in brisket and Georgia-style Brunswick stew. There are also a couple of Mexican restaurants that the locals love, along with the sweet treats at Veri Best Donut.
- Great parks
Carver Park and Recreation Center is perfect for spending a lazy afternoon strolling the walking trails, fishing, or running around with the kids on the playground. There is also a game room, pavilions, a gymnasium, and a kitchen that you can rent here for your own private parties. And, as an added benefit, if you live in one of the local apartments, you'll get a discount on your rental!
The Woodruff Farm Soccer Complex is home to Columbus Youth Soccer. There are ten different-sized fields here, so the complex is perfect for players of all ages. There is also a concession stand so that you have plenty to fuel up on while you watch one of the many tournaments that are played here.
On the south side of Buena Vista Road -- just to the south of East Columbus -- you'll find Belvedere Park and Shirley Winston Park.
- Unique educational opportunities
If your kids will be living in your East Columbus apartment with you, you'll be happy to learn that you don't necessarily have to enroll them in private school to give them a great education. That's because this neighborhood is home to East Columbus Magnet School, a middle school with just over 600 students. There are a variety of magnet programs here, for both kids who are gifted and who are talented.
Woodruff Farm Road Soccer Complex is great for all ages. If you want to practice or join a league this is the place to play soccer.
